Structural Aligning aims to decrease the incidence of postural faults and resulting pain by analysing postural faults, implementing treatment procedures and restoring good posture.
Good posture affects the well being of the individual – good structure and functioning of the body provides for ease of movement and reduced risk of injury. Poor posture, and resulting postural faults, give rise to discomfort, pain or disability. Misalignment of Myofascial tissues occurring as a result of improper posture may have an overall detrimental effect on muscular efficiency, energy levels and general health.
Structural Aligning is a series of deep massage techniques and stretches intended to help realignment of the body by altering the length and tone of Myofascial Tissues.
Pre-treatment consultation takes place to establish any areas of concern and any medical issues. A separate room is used to ensure complete privacy. You will be asked to perform a series of small manoeuvres while standing, sitting and lying down for purpose of the Soft Tissue Screening test. You will then be massaged /stretched on a massage table with a large towel/sarong covering areas not worked on.
