Cross Fibre Mobilisation

Cross Fibre Mobilisation is a muscle release technique that balances and stimulates energy flows, resulting in a deep sense of overall relaxation. There are regular pauses between the series of gentle, rolling connective tissue moves to give the body the required time to allow the body to reset and heal itself. It uses a light touch and can be performed through the clothing.

Cross Fibre Mobilisation can address many conditions from sports injuries to chronic conditions, without using any vigorous manipulations. The subtle moves can be safely used on anyone, from babies to the aged, infirm and immobile. These techniques can improve joint mobility, help lymphatic and venous drainage, help assimilate nutrients and eliminate waste products right down to cellular level.

Cross Fibre Mobilisation was born out of respect for Tom Bowen. A self-taught therapist, Tom Bowen developed his unique and innovative system during his work with physically and mentally handicapped patients. Through his system of gentle connective tissue mobilisations, he has helped thousands of patients.

Pre-treatment consultation takes place to establish areas of concern and any medical issues. A separate room is used to ensure complete privacy. You will then be treated on a massage table with a large towel/sarong covering areas not worked on or alternatively this treatment can be performed through your clothing.

Cross Fibre Mobilisation may be carried out successfully on its own or used in combination with other massage techniques, normally two to three treatments are required.
